安装前准备
在通过CD或是USB安装ubuntu之间，你必须修改BIOS中两项设置：
把BIOS中
* Config --> Display --> Graphics Device --> [Integrated graphics] or [Discrete Graphics]
* Disable OS LXection for Switchable Graphics. 则它可能莫名其妙地切换回Switchable Graphics.
现在，你可以Live-CD引导安装ubuntu了
ubuntu 是一个成熟的linux操作系统，对小黑兼容非常的好，下面我们来看一下哪些东西安装即用呢？

* 使用iwlagn 驱动的无线 (Intel WiFi Link 5100/5300 WLAN controller)
G 模式 + WEP and WPA2 PSK
LED状态灯以及其它的相关
* 蓝牙
甚至蓝牙鼠标
* Intel 千兆网卡
* Intel集成显卡驱动 (Intel Integrated Intel GMA 4500MHD)
包括3D加速，安装即用
* ATI Radeon 3470显卡的fglrx 驱动
如果要欣赏3D加速，必须要安装私有 fglrx Driver. (for example with the jockey-gtk tool)
* VGA/HDMI 输出
* 声卡
如果要使用内置话筒，需要在“音频设置”（Audio-Setting）中使用 "HDA Intel CONEXANT Analog (ALSA)".
* 光驱 (包括DVD刻录)
* 内置摄像头（webcam） (本文作者使用skype, cheese and vlc media player测试过可用)
* 7合1读卡器 (MMC, Memory Stick, Mem Stick Pro, SD, SDHC, XD, XLXype H Memory)
* 触摸板和小红帽
包括触摸板右边的滚动功能
* 控制按钮及热键
音量控制按钮
屏幕亮度控制按钮(FN + Home/End)
阅读灯控制按钮(FN + PgUp)
WLAN/BT/OFF 切换开关(Fn+F5 按一次: Wlan and BT 关掉/按第二次: BT off, Wlan 开/第三次: BT 开, Wlan 关/按第四次: BT 和 Wlan 开)
仅增加蓝牙切换 (Fn+F6) 不影响 WLAN （blackiron注：这个组合键在windows下按，没有什么反应）
Wlan/BT 硬件切换
Media player 控制 (FN + arrows)
浏览器历史按钮（原文是：Browser history buttons）
VGA输出 (FN + F7 按一次: 两个显示屏都显示/按两次: 输出屏显示，本机无信号/第三次:本机显示，输出屏无信号)
系统挂起热键 (FN + F4)
系统休眠热键(FN + F12)
电池信息热键 (FN + F3)
锁屏热键(FN + F2)
热键FN + F9没有测试
ThinkVantage 按钮 (你需要为其指定一个程序)
* 一些ACPI 功能
电池状态，电源图和历史
屏幕开合状态和相关事件
*挂起/休眠

Before Installation

Before you can start Ubuntu from CD or USB you have to change two BIOS settings:

    * Change to Internal or ATI Graphics with Config --> Display --> Graphics Device --> [Integrated graphics] or [Discrete Graphics]
    * Disable OS LXection for Switchable Graphics. Otherwise it will mysteriously switch back to Switchable Graphics.

Now you can boot your Live-CD, connect to Wireless Lan, and install the OS.

With one version of the installer CD, the installation works fine, but after rebooting it hangs with ATA errors. Solution was to boot the Live CD, mount the partition, chroot, and upgrade to the newest kernel (from 2.6.27-7 to 2.6.27-9).
